History
SPLASH is a full-service, mobile swim instruction business owned by Lauren Boultbee, that guarantees one on one swimming instruction from a qualified and enthusiastic instructor who values safety, fun and success. SPLASH is dedicated to not only providing engaging and quality swim instruction that results in significant progress for students but also unparalleled customer service and communication with clients. Coupled with this commitment to excellence, is the convenience that SPLASH provides in being a mobile swim instruction business. Families with their own backyard swimming pools can enjoy the convenience of having fully certified, insured and success-driven instructors teach their children in the comfort and safety of their own homes.
SPLASH was founded in 2014 by Lauren as a graduate of the Summer Company Program, which is a youth entrepreneurship initiative launched by the Ministry of Economic Development, Trade and Employment (MEDTE) in 2001. The program provides hands-on business mentoring from local business leaders and offers students grants up to $3000 to start a business and turn their Summer Company into a reality.
Instructors
Since its inception SPLASH has been both a Canadian Red Cross Training Partner as well as an affiliate of the Lifesaving Society and as such, all SPLASH staff are fully certified by the Lifesaving Society.

Nicholas Boultbee
Nicholas is twenty-two years old and has been fully certified for the past six years. Prior to that, he shadow taught with Lauren preparing to become a key member of the SPLASH team. Nicholas is a recent graduate of Bishop's University whose summers are dedicated to SPLASH and his roster of clients. Swimmers under Nicholas's instruction exponentially improve their strength and technique resulting in high satisfaction and success rates. Nicholas is an extremely engaging instructor with a teaching style far beyond his years.
Blythe Ferguson
Blythe is twenty years old and has been a certified swim instructor for the last five years. She teaches everything from toddler and adult lessons, first aid, advanced leadership courses and everything in between. She is a forensic science student at Trent University looking forward to spending this summer experiencing the dynamic of backyard lessons. Swimmers find Blythe’s teaching easy to understand and greatly improve their confidence and skill. Blythe is a very interactive instructor and adapts her teaching as required.
Certified & Insured
SPLASH is a registered business licenced as a Sole Proprietorship. A Lifesaving Society affiliation agreement has been obtained and the standards adhered to for the operation of a backyard swim instruction business. This agreement allows SPLASH access to curriculum, badges and professional development for those who work for SPLASH.

SPLASH also works with Canadian Insurance Brokers Inc. (CIBI) to ensure a comprehensive and current commercial liability insurance policy is in effect during operational months.
